Union members and activists in Japan are organizing Troublemakers Schools in Tokyo (November 11-12) and Osaka/Kyoto (November 18-19). Using Labor Notes' Secrets of a Successful Organizer book, participants will learn how to identify fellow leaders, build a winning leadership team, and plot a shop floor campaign.

Are you beating your head against the wall trying to get your co-workers involved? These workshops are for you. Join us Saturday, October 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Eastern Michigan University.
Please choose one of two workshops:
1. Turning an Issue into a Campaign: Everybody has complaints, but an organizer has the skills to turn problems into opportunities. Learn how to sort out the issues you hear from co-workers, recognize the ones that have organizing potential, and bring people together to make an escalating plan to solve the problem.
Dear Friends of Labor Notes,
More Labor Notes classes are under way. People who came to the December 2016 Troublemakers School said how much they would have liked their co-workers to be there. We had 66 people at our two classes held on April 8—many of them new people. Here's another chance to invite co-workers and to learn new skills yourself.
On Saturday, June 24, at 10 a.m., we'll be holding two simultaneous classes.

They want to slash wages, abolish pensions, outsource jobs, and gut public services. President Trump and his cronies are pushing for national right-to-work legislation as well as other policy attacks on unions, immigrants, public schools, and everyone's access to health care.
Minnesota union members and activists are going to have to build power and increase pressure locally and nationally. »

But the good news is, among us we've got the creativity and knowhow to beat back the concessions and build a better city and state. That's why troublemakers from different unions and worker centers are coming together August 20 to build skills and share strategies. »
