What is Visual Strategy? Projecting Power in the Street

When workers look powerful, we feel powerful, and when we feel our most powerful, we win. How we look sways how much power bosses think we have, demonstrates and strengthens our unity, and helps demonstrate how amazing it is to be part of a union. But many times our movements don’t give more than a passing consideration to things like signage, staging, photographs, or slogans: the things that help us look and feel our most powerful in the street.
In this workshop, you’ll learn practical tips to contest public and media assumptions about who you are and what is possible, and hear stories of inspiring examples from across our movement. Whether sign-making parties are your favorite part of a campaign, or whether the sight of a paintbrush or a camera makes you run and hide—this is definitely a workshop for you!
This workshop will be held via Zoom on Thursday, February 10, at 7 p.m. Eastern (6pm Central; 5pm Mountain; 4pm Pacific).
Workshop presenters:
