Conversations with Troublemakers: Organizing for the Common Good

The strike is back! More workers walked off the job last year than any year since 1986. Teachers and nurses are at the forefront of this upsurge, and they're using their workplace leverage to advocate not only for themselves, but also for their patients, their students, and the public. Join Labor Notes organizer Chris Brooks as we discuss how winning a better world requires collective action on the job.

Panelists:

  • Katrina Clark, a rank-and-file activist in the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers and Caucus of Working Educators.
  • Georgia Flowers-Lee, United Teachers of Los Angeles board of directors.
  • Marty Harrison, rank-and-file activist in Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals.

When: Saturday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m.

Where: Calvary Church, 801 S. 48th St, Philadelphia

Cost: We are asking for a $5 registration to help cover the cost of this event. There is an option to purchase your registration with a one-year subscription to Labor Notes for $20 (that's 50% off!).

Join us afterward for drinks and discussion afterward at Dahlak at 4708 Baltimore Ave.
