Donor Event: Hear What’s New at Labor Notes

Two years into the second Trump administration, rank-and-file union members are fighting an extraordinary effort by billionaires to consolidate power.

Members of the Labor Notes network—nurses, auto workers, Amazon warehouse workers and drivers, federal workers, teachers, members of the building trades, grocery and meatpacking workers, and many others—are going out on strike, building mass demonstrations, strategizing in democratic spaces, and revitalizing their unions.

In just the past year at Labor Notes, we have supported workers’ fights through several projects:

1. We have published two new books (Keep Going and Running for Local Union Office) and released Robert Schwartz's The Legal Rights of Union Stewards as an audiobook. (And we’ll have more audiobooks coming soon!)

2. …Put out resources on caucus development, immigrant defense in the workplace, and aligning contract expirations for May 2028.

3. …Expanded our reporting on shop floor actions and worker-led campaigns in our magazine, website and our weekly podcast.

4. …Gathered with 4,500 workers at the 2026 Labor Notes Conference in Chicago, spotlighting the fights of Twin Cities workers who resisted ICE in Minnesota, IBEW members revitalizing their unions, Amazon workers, and others who mounted bold contract campaigns and strikes.

5. …Brought thousands more workers together at network meetings and at online workshops for stewards, members of bargaining and contract action teams, and other organizing committees.

And we’ve got more plans in the coming months, including several in-person Troublemakers Schools across the country as we plan for an even bigger Labor Notes conference in 2028.
