Workers Organize To Resist ICE
Event at a Glance
Event Date
ICE has invaded our cities and communities across the US are under assault. From Chicago to LA, in cities large and small, masked armed men are dragging people off the street, out of their cars, and from their places of employment and disappearing them into detention centers for deportation.
While the attack has been fierce and traumatic, the resistance has been steady and determined.
Join us to hear from union members who’ve been on the front lines of the resistance and others who are preparing to defend their cities and communities. Hear about the networks they’ve built and how they built them, the workshops and trainings that have best prepared members and the community, and the strength that emerges in union- community solidarity.
Panelists will include:
Workers from the front lines in Chicago
Jessie Papalia, Oakland Education Association Rapid Response Team
Hae-Lin Choi, Political Director, CWA District 1 and co-founder Hands Off NYC
