Labor Notes' update list will be used to provide you with the latest news from Labor Notes -- news about articles published in our monthly magazine, news about our publications, and news about our biennial conferences, events, and more. Please tell other labor activists who believe in stronger unions about this list.
Subscribing and unsubscribing on the update list is a two-step process. The reason for two steps is to make sure someone doesn't use your address without your permission.
- To subscribe, enter your email in the input box below, click on the radio button for subscribe, and click on the submit button.
- In a few minutes you will receive an email from update-request@labornotes.org asking you to confirm that you do want to be added to our list. The subject line will contain a long random number. Without changing the subject line or anything else, simply reply to that email to complete the process.
- To unsubscribe, do the same except click the unsubscribe button. Soon a confirming email will arrive.
List management:
- Changing email address: To change from an old to a new address, send a blank email to update-change@labornotes.org [1]. Send it either from the old or new email address, and put the other email address in the subject line. You will receive a confirming email containing a long random number in the subject line. If you approve, simply reply with no changes.
- Vacation suspension: To suspend Labor Notes updates, send a blank email to update-vacation@labornotes.org [2]. To resume, send a second blank email to the same address, update-vacation@labornotes.org [3].
- Email method of subscribing/unsubscribing: You can subscribe or unsubscribe by sending blank emails either to update-on@labornotes.org [4] or update-off@labornotes.org [5]. You will receive confirming emails.
- Questions or comments: To discuss updates with the Labor Notes staff, email update-list-owner@labornotes.org [6].
- Technical problems: Email listmaster@labornotes.org [7]. Note the listmaster and list-owner are different. The listmaster is our hired bulk mail server. The list-owner is us, Labor Notes. So when dealing with the listmaster, you should give detailed information of the problem, and the name of the Labor Notes list. The name of our list is not Labor Notes and not Labor Notes Update. It is just update.
