Dear Friends of Labor Notes,
Heroes aren’t made, they’re cornered.
And today our backs are against the wall. We are living in a new world order, where corporations that are wealthier than many nations have claimed our country as their property, and where genuine solutions seem more out of reach than ever.
But the opportunities of the moment are also enormous. That’s why the registered nurses of the California Nurses Association/ National Nurses Organizing Committee and I are asking you to please support Labor Notes, an organization we need more than ever.
Labor Notes offers a unique space to share ideas and strategize, like their April 2008 conference Rebuilding Labor’s Power [1]. I am happy to be one of the main speakers at this year’s event, where we’ll take on the challenging question of what we need to win single-payer healthcare here in the U.S.
We often take for granted that which is most important to us. We can not afford to take that risk with Labor Notes. We can not afford not to support Labor Notes.
In Solidarity,
Rose Ann DeMoro
Executive Director
California Nurses Association and
National Nurses Organizing Committee
