The conference is being held at the Dearborn Hyatt Regency located at 600 Town Center Dr., Dearborn, MI 48126.
HOTEL ROOMS SOLD OUT! Announcement 4/2/08: The Hyatt Regency Dearborn has sold out of hotel rooms.
However, Labor Notes has reserved a small block of rooms for Labor Notes Conference participants at the nearby Ritz-Carlton Dearborn (http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Properties/Dearborn). Call 1800-241-3333 to reserve a room. To get the conference rate of $111/night (singles and doubles only) you must mention “Labor Notes.” Check-in is 3pm and check-out is 12pm.

Union airlines that fly on Detroit Metro Airport (DTW):

TRANSPORTATION FROM AIRPORT
There are two taxi services running from Detroit Metro Airport. Both of these companies keep cars waiting at the airport at all times, and both charge by vehicle. You can save money by organizing to share a vehicle.
Airport to Conference via buslines:
Take the 280 Middlebelt, which stops at the Smith Terminal on the lower level by the exit near the baggage claim once an hour at the top of the hour on weekdays. Arrive to Smith Terminal from other terminals via airport shuttles.
Go North to Michigan Ave. and transfer to the 200 Michigan going Eastbound to Fairlane Mall. It comes every half hour until 7 p.m. and then once an hour until midnight. When you get off at Fairlane the Hyatt Regency is across the parking lot.
The bus costs $1.50 plus 25 cents for a transfer that you must ask for when you board the bus initially.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
From West, including from Detroit Metropolitan Airport (9 miles)
I-94 East to Southfield Fwy (M39). Proceed north to Michigan Ave west. Michigan Ave westbound, turn right at Evergreen Road, right into Fairlane Town Center and right again at stop sign. The hotel is across from Sears on right.
From North/CANADA
From Ontario, Highway 402 W turns into I-94 W, get off at US-12/Michigan Ave exit 210A toward Dearborn (westbound); right at Evergreen Road; right into Fairlane Town Center and right again at stop sign. The hotel is across from Sears on right.
From South
Which highway you take depends on where you’re coming from exactly. Anyone coming from directly south of Detroit or southeast should link up with I-75 North.
From Columbus, OH
Take 270 E to US-23 N to OH-15 W to I-75 N
From the Virginias or Carolinas take I-77 N to 80 to 280 to I-75 N
From the east coast take I-80 W to I-280 W to get to I-75 North.
From I-75 N
I-75 North to Exit #41 Southfield Road/Fwy North. Exit Michigan Avenue West. Turn right at Evergreen Rd, right into Fairlane Town Center and right again at stop sign. The hotel is across from Sears on right.
From East
I-94 West to Exit 210A Michigan Avenue West. Turn right at Evergreen Rd, right into Fairlane Town Center and right again at stop sign. The hotel is across from Sears on right.
MEALS
The Saturday evening banquet is included in the registration fee. Your name tag is your dinner ticket, so please wear it. Coffee, tea, juice, and breakfast pastries will be available close to the Grand Foyer/Ballroom on Saturday and Sunday mornings, 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
For other meals, there will be a special discounted cash and carry food court (low budget) available to conference participants. For coffee, juices, and snacks, including sandwiches (low budget), go to “Perks Coffee Bar,” located on the lobby level next to the hotel entrance. There are two restaurants on the second level of the hotel, called “Bistro on 2” (medium budget) and “Giulio & Sons” (high budget). There are also several restaurants at the nearby Fairlane Mall, which is in walking distance, at a range of prices.
