I used to be a UAW member for 13 years, and a member of New Direction under the leadership of Jerry Tucker. The current crisis is going to be more devastating for Unions than the one on the Nineties and 80's. Obviuosly this is going to affect the bargaining power of the Union. UAW needs to grow and organize, use the interest from the Strike fund to expand to other areas such as health employees where employers can not outsource the jobs to other countries.
