It seems to me that cracking down on illegal workers is fruitless and inefficient. Cracking down on employers is the smarter and more effective way to do things. Illegal immigrants will always find a way to go where there's more opportunity, but can an employers always break the law as easily? And when you catch a worker, you have to spend tax payer money to detain and deport them, whereas if you catch an employer, it's one person or entity, and you can recoup expenses from fines. The US illegal immigration approach doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
